Lending a hand to those in need

Established in 1892, Welcome Hall Mission is the largest doorway to help Montrealers in need. The Mission believes that everyone deserves access to affordable permanent housing, healthy food, and to be a part of a loving and supportive community. It offers many programs to support those experiencing homelessness, young single mothers, families and at-risk youth.

The face of homelessness in Montréal has evolved over the years. From a situation particular to the city’s downtown affecting those made vulnerable by mental health challenges, it has become a more complex phenomenon necessitating several different responses. Going beyond mere responses, the Mission aims to provide actual solutions. Each year, Welcome Hall Mission works with community partners to accompany hundreds of people experiencing homelessness and in need of permanent housing into a variety of supported housing programs. The Mission has also developed services designed to address the needs of individuals and families who are housed but struggle to make ends meet, including support programs to help people become independent and connected to a community of support. Those who benefit from the Mission’s community services obtain healthy food at one of its innovative free grocery stores, free dental care at its on-site clinic, healthcare referrals, and help with education or job-related counselling.

Because we also believe that everyone deserves access to affordable housing, nutritious foods, and the support of a loving community, Power Corporation is pleased to support the important work of the Welcome Hall Mission.
