Canada has a long tradition of immigration, with millions of people from around the world who have chosen to make it their home, and many more continuing to do so today. These individuals, with diverse cultural, ethnic, linguistic, and religious backgrounds, must feel accepted and truly integrated into their adoptive communities.
Co-founded in 2006 by The Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson and John Ralston Saul, the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC) offers programs and special projects designed to encourage the active engagement of every newcomer in Canada’s history, culture, and political life. Through events such as citizenship ceremonies, awareness campaigns promoting a more inclusive society, and services like Canoo, a mobile app that provides new citizens and permanent residents with privileged access to the country's top attractions, ICC strives to uphold the nation's promise to newcomers. Knowing that the immigration journey can be complex, Power Corporation proudly supports ICC in its quest to celebrate the richness that newcomers bring to the social fabric of our country.
Power Corporation is an exemplary corporate citizen, whose generous philanthropy helps us accompany and support future Canadian citizens. With free access to thousands of culture and integration experiences, newcomers use Canoo to fully appreciate Canada and what it has to offer.
