GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING A REQUEST
Power Corporation of Canada proudly supports a wide range of organizations throughout Canada. Every request that is received is carefully reviewed to ensure that the organization and/or the project in question aligns with the Corporation’s philanthropic approach and values, and generates a significant impact in the community.
APPLICATION LETTER
For a donation request to be considered, your organization must include an official application letter. The following information must be included:
- A brief description of the organization’s mission;
- The details of your request, including the donation amount requested;
- The location and date of the event, if applicable;
- The contact information for the resource person within the organization; and
- Other important partners you may have, if applicable.
ELIGIBILITY OF REQUESTS
The following organizations or projects are not eligible for financial support from Power Corporation:
- Individual projects or ones in support of one individual in particular;
- For-profit organizations or companies;
- Donor-advised funds, private foundations or personal trusts;
- Organizations that discriminate based on race, religion, sex, age, nationality, ethnicity, handicap, political affiliation or sexual orientation;
- Political causes, candidates, organizations or campaigns;
- Religious or sectarian organizations (with the exception of non-denominational projects or activities organized for the benefit of society at-large); and
- In-kind donations.
On account of the strategic priorities defined by the members of the Donations Committee, we unfortunately cannot accommodate all the requests we receive.
SUBMITTING A DONATION REQUEST
Please allow three (3) months for a response. We will communicate with you directly if the evaluation process takes longer or if we require any additional information after reviewing your request.
Power Corporation reserves the right to refuse a request even if the organization fits the criteria.
